The Wilmot Cancer Institute has an opening for a full time Nurse Manager for the Palliative Care program.


The Wilmot Cancer Institute has an opening for a full time Nurse Manager for the Palliative Care program. The Nurse Manager has a pivotal role in the organization, directing the clinical operations on his/her unit, ensuring the delivery of high-quality nursing care to a complex patient population. Initiates and leads activities and programs that promote the implementation of goals for the inpatient palliative care program. The Nurse Manager works collaboratively with the palliative care medical director, physicians, advanced practice providers and all members of the health care team, to ensure that care is delivered consistent with evidence-based standards, while achieving the principles of service excellence. MS degree or completed within 5 years of appointment required. 2-3 years nursing leadership experience is preferred.


Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Manager directs all aspects of patient care, which includes managing nursing personnel and material resources in a cost-effective manner, unit planning and the initiation of innovative clinical and management practices with emphasis on retention strategies.
