Advises undergraduate students in academic planning for business programming; assists students having academic difficulties; makes appropriate referrals. Provides assistance in administrative matters.
Under general direction with latitude for independent judgment –
Advises undergraduate students in academic program planning for business programs. Uses specialized knowledge of these programs, courses, prerequisites, degree requirements, and College and Simon policies. Helps prepare informational materials and updates websites; monitors the departmental email account; manages the transfer credit request process, refers students to the appropriate resources for specialized help; monitors student progress as they work toward degree completion including review of senior audits. Liaises with other departments, student clubs and assists in alumni engagement.
Coordinates with the Undergraduate Business team to plan special events; provides guidance for managing new initiatives, plans and coordinates diploma ceremony.
Maintains awareness of University, College, and departmental policies and procedures.
Excellent organization, attention to detail, time management, writing ability and interpersonal skills required. Have worked with and have a commitment to working with culturally diverse groups. Ability to adapt to dynamic situations and shifting priorities. Desirable skills include familiarity with computer applications such as Microsoft Word and Excel.
Bachelor’s degree and one year related experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience required. Master’s degree with two years related experience in student affairs preferred.
