GENERAL PURPOSE:With minimal direction and with considerable latitude to exercise independent judgment, serves as Administrative Coordinator for the Department of Imaging Sciences. In conjunction with the Lung Cancer Screening (LCS) committees, Quality Assurance and Regional Imaging Administrators, the LCS Administrative Coordinator is responsible for oversight of the Lung Cancer Screening Program for Imaging. This position works closely and in conjunction with the LCS clinic/APP in Pulmonology as well as the Smoking Cessation Program and coordinators in Oncology. This position also interfaces frequently with referring providers, Radiologists, Pulmonologists and Oncologic providers. The Program coordinator works closely with the Imaging Patient Navigator and Imaging Data Navigator to support all efforts related to guiding patients through the LCS process- from intake, scheduling through to follow-up care. The program coordinator manages all aspects of the CT LCS database including oversight of data entry, statistical reporting and workflow enhancements.JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • In conjunction with the Patient Navigator, LCS clinic and referring providers, supports all efforts related to guiding patients and families through the LCS process across the URM Imaging enterprise.

  • Performs program quality assessment checks, audits and reviews. Prepares QA, volume and financial reports for presentation at LCS steering committee. Reports data to VC of Quality, QA Administrator and Regional Administrator on a frequent basis. This position will be required to become fluent and efficient in numerous systems and associated databases, including but not limited to: eRecord/Radiant, Primordial workflow manager, eView, the RHIO.

  • Communicates with referring services regarding patient appropriateness for program and coordinates information with referring services. This includes all pathways of patient intake into the LCS program. Works closely with program leadership, communications and marketing teams to promote program outreach.

  • Performs all aspects of HR and personnel management of LCS patient and data navigators, including hiring, on-boarding, competencies, performance evaluation tracking, management and coaching.

  • Serves as an active member of the LCS groups and LCS steering committee.

  • Prepares weekly updates on program activity, statistics and recommendations for program enhancements.

  • Serves as subject matter expert for training, process and workflows for all aspects of the LCS program.

  • Other duties as this position will evolve over time as required to accomplish the goals of this initiative.

QUALIFICATIONS: Baccalaureate Degree, preferably in healthcare or business administration required; Master's degree preferred. A minimum of 3 years of relevant experience in a healthcare environment required or an equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. Previous experience in Imaging, Pulmonology or Oncology preferred. Required knowledge, skills and abilities: Strong customer service skills; Ability to take initiative and work independently with minimal supervision; Knowledge and experience with MS office; Word, PowerPoint, Excel; Strong interpersonal and organizational skills required to work with all levels of clinical personnel; Demonstrates excellent communication skills-written, verbal and body language inclusive; Highly focused on details; Exemplary professionalism at all times in handling sensitive and confidential matters; Proactive approach at problem solving; Excellent customer service skills and practice; Exercises independent judgment, problem solving and critical thinking skills.
