FT position available (40 hours), days


Exciting opportunity to work in a well-established practice as part of a collaborative team providing care to patients within the Division of Cardiac Surgery. This independent position provides both pre and postoperative outpatient surgical care to patients of the Cardiovascular Surgery Service Line. Provide direct care, assessment, evaluation, intervention and plan for ongoing care of this outpatient population including wound care, surgical follow up and knowledge of arrhythmia management. In addition to direct patient care activities, collaborates with Cardiology and/or Primary Care, Center for Perioperative Medicine, as well as ancillary services (visiting nurse, home care, etc…). Quality Improvement, data management and familiarity with core measures and performance improvement commitment is required. Excellent organizational, communication skills, and customer service behaviors are required. NYS licensed PA or ACNP NP, Master’s degree required. Nationally certified or eligible for certification required. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.


Nurse Practitioner

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Physician Assistant

Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
