Ambulatory Psychiatry - Nurse Mgr
FT position primarily days with on call responsibilities
Serves as a member of an interdisciplinary team overseeing nursing and non-nursing staff in a variety of ambulatory psych clinics, the Behavioral Health Call Center, and operational responsibilities of the BH Crisis Call Line. In collaboration with the Assistant Director for Ambulatory Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, is accountable for the clinical, human resource and fiscal aspects for a set of ambulatory areas within the psych mental health nursing structure. Reports to the Associate Director of Nursing for Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing Service with matrix reporting within the service to Program Directors. Candidate requires strong communication skills, teamwork values, experience with staff development, and implementation of a customer service philosophy in delivering patient-family centered care. The Nurse Manager directs all aspects of patient care, which includes managing nursing and non-nursing personnel, material resources in a cost-effective manner, unit planning and the initiation of innovative clinical and management practices with emphasis on retention strategies. Bachelor’s in Nursing and an active New York State license in good standing required. Master's Degree in Nursing or related field preferred. 5 years of psych mental health nursing experience required, 3-5 years of experience in a health care administrative role, or equivalent combination of education and experience. Previous experience in ambulatory services preferred.
Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
