  • Responsible for designing, developing and maintaining homegrown software solutions. Familiar with all aspects of the software development life cycle and is comfortable performing the development, testing, documenting, and maintenance phases. Works closely with the project director and other team members in requirements gathering, system architecture design, deployment, and end-user training.

  • Follows guidelines and design directions given by the senior members of the team but has latitude for independent judgment and decision making during the development and testing phases.


  • Project Design

  • Works with the project director and end-users to understand project requirements; consults with end-users as appropriate to assess needs

  • Uses in-depth technical knowledge to develop innovative design plans and presents them to the project director

  • Through experience and research, assists in determining project scope and deadlines

  • Analyzes how a new solution interacts with or enhances existing solutions and how future solutions may benefit from the design

  • Compiles organized notes which can be shared with the team

  • Researches and tests coding techniques

  • Determines what resources will be necessary (databases, storage, servers, etc.)

  • Project Development & Testing

  • Creates solutions based on project scope and requirements

  • Adheres to established coding standards (provided)

  • Document code according to standards (provided)

  • Integrates necessary frameworks and interfaces

  • Effectively tests code to produce stable results that match specifications

  • Maintenance & Upgrades

  • Builds modifications based on project director and end-users feedback

  • Works with the lead to determine the scope of an upgrade

  • Handles software issues and bugs at a project level

  • Deployment & Training

  • Configures database and web servers to the project’s specification

  • Works with senior team members to assist end-user training

  • Works with senior team members to assist deployment

  • Regression tests project after deployment to determine success

  • Continuing Education

  • Maintains current knowledge base and expertise relative to the technology and software used by related to the EHR and functional areas being supported

  • Other duties as assigned


  • Bachelor’s degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Software Engineering, or Computer Engineering required.

  • Master’s Degree preferred.

  • 1-3 years of related experience required ;

  • Experience with web programming languages such as ASP.NET/C# or equivalent (PHP, Java, Python, Ruby or Node.js) required.

  • Experience with mobile app development (iOS, Android) or cross-platform development tools (Flutter, Xamarin or React Native) preferred

  • Familiarity with relational database concepts and experience with a modern DBMS such as Microsoft SQL or equivalent (Oracle, MySQL, MongoDB, Redis) required.

  • Experience with web servers, web services and source control required.
