The Medicine in Psychiatry Services (MIPS) of the Department of Psychiatry at the University of Rochester School of Medicine & Dentistry invites applications for a full-time Internal Medicine or Family Medicine physician to serve as a primary care provider for individuals with severe mental illnesses. The position can carry a faculty rank of Senior Instructor or higher based on clinical experience or expertise. We are recruiting for a candidate with outstanding clinical and supervisory skills to join our Medicine in Psychiatry Services (MIPS), help grow our team and increase access to care for this vulnerable population. Clinical responsibilities include providing preventive and chronic disease management for those with severe mental disorders in close collaboration with colleagues in our Department of Psychiatry.
The physician will be based primarily at our Brighton Health Center where our Medicine in Psychiatry Services (MIPS) primary care practice is located, a mere 2 miles from Strong Memorial Hospital.
The physician will have a primary appointment with the department of Psychiatry and a secondary appointment with their respective departments of Medicine or Family Medicine, depending on postgraduate training. Candidates must meet the following requirements:
Board certified/ board eligible in Internal Medicine or Family Medicine
Active NYS license
Active DEA certification
