General Purpose:

Develops, manages and maintains projects for construction and renovation that assures compliance with University standards, policies and procedures and contract documents. Assists Directors of Real Estate Services with coordinating offsite new construction, alterations and renovation projects University-wide including the River Campus, Medical Center and affiliates.

Specific Responsibilities:

Under general direction and with latitude for the exercise of independent judgment:

Develops, manages and monitors projects including: resolutions, forms, occupancy budget, lease renewals, requisitions/purchase orders.

Coordinates assigned renovation and new construction projects with contracted architects, engineers and building contractors.

Reviews drawings and specifications to insure they meet the University, Landlords, Owners and Owners Managers requirements. Instructs consultants to make necessary changes.

Organizes, schedules and conducts project field meetings; follows up on miscellaneous items.

Consults with clients, consultants and contractors regarding project design and construction changes and recommends approval of resultant change orders; arranges for punch lists and ensures contractor completion of same; updates project tracking list with close collaboration with Project Managers.

Reviews and recommends approval of contractor pay requisitions and manages closeout of project.

Ensures that contractor operations do not disrupt University operations. Ensures that construction schedule meets schedule of client and total construction budget is consistent with client's budget.

Assists in preparation of bidding documents and awarding of contracts. Oversees bidding process.

Provides project quality control and inspection. Ensures that consultants and contractors make necessary corrections so completed projects are as approved and specified.


Associates Degree in Building Construction or similar discipline and 5 years of construction experience with architect, engineer or contractor; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Familiarity with electrical and mechanical systems. Proficient in Microsoft Office, Excel, PowerPoint, Project. Lease management experience preferred.
