The University of Rochester has been a leader in epilepsy as a sub-specialty since its inception in 1967. Our Level 4 Epilepsy Center opened in 1991 and has grown to 12 faculty and 35 neurophysiology technologists and support staff. The epilepsy division has evolved allowing training, clinical and research programs to substantially expand. With over 6,000 outpatient and nearly 2,000 inpatient visits a year, we have patients that come from across the U.S. and around the world for consultation.
The University of Rochester Level 4 NAEC-accredited Epilepsy Center within the Department of Neurology invites applications for an academic clinician position in adult epileptology at an Assistant Professor or Associate Professor level. At the time of application, candidates should have completed an ACGME accredited Neurology residency and an ACGME accredited Epilepsy and/or Clinical Neurophysiology Fellowship. Applicants must be Board certified/eligible in Epilepsy and/or Neurophysiology and in Neurology.
We seek a highly committed physician to join our supportive and collaborative environment currently comprised of three pediatric and six adult epileptologists who will contribute to our academic, clinical and teaching missions in the areas of child neurology and epileptology. The successful candidate will be expected to provide clinical outpatient epilepsy care to adult patients, inpatient care to adult patients within the epilepsy monitoring unit, and interpret neurophysiology studies. As a faculty member there will be the opportunity to generate a research program. Academic collaborations within the department and elsewhere within and outside the Medical Center are encouraged.
The University of Rochester, Department of Neurology includes over 90 faculty with internationally recognized research and education programs. The Epilepsy Center was formed in 1990 and is fully comprehensive.
