Responsibilities

The Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester in Rochester, NY, is seeking a division chief for their abdomen imaging section. The division presently consists of 11 faculty members supported by licensed professional extenders and a dedicated radiology communication center. Abdominal imaging faculty perform CT/MRI/US/Abdominal Fluoroscopy and PET/CT with internal sub-specialization in line with a faculty member’s interests. We provide diagnostic imaging and teaching at the primary medical center and collaborate with superb clinical colleagues. Biopsies and other invasive procedures are performed by a separate interventional division. Overnight coverage is provided by a separate emergency radiology division.

Requirements include ABR certification or eligibility in Diagnostic Radiology and fellowship training or equivalent experience in abdominal imaging. Candidates should have or be eligible to obtain a New York State Medical License.

Compensation and benefit packages are highly competitive, including 403B and 457 plans, disability insurance, and tuition benefits. The Department of Imaging Sciences at the University of Rochester is a practice of approximately 90 radiologists and 25-30 residents and fellows. Technical highlights include state of the art information technology, 3T MRI, a clinical PET/MRI, Dual Energy CT and digital PET/CT. The department’s PACS system is integrated into a comprehensive electronic clinical information system. These include Art, Science, and Children’s Museums, the George Eastman Museum, a zoo, top Philharmonic and Pops Orchestras, and multiple theatres including Broadway plays. Housing is affordable. The majority of faculty children attend excellent public schools with many subsequently admitted to highly competitive universities. The Finger Lakes region of New York is famous for its outdoor participatory sports and is the 3rd largest wine region in the United States.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $394,250 - $455,000 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
