Completes and assigns tasks related to website maintenance, project management, client relationship management, quality control, and digital accessibility. Creates, audits, updates, and maintains websites and digital documents to ensure compliance with standards and best practices. Takes an active role in development and delivery of training and education programs for digital teams and web administrators and editors across the University to ensure consistency and awareness of and compliance with University of Rochester digital policies, standards, and guidelines. Takes an active role to establish and maintain web governance and digital accessibility at the University to help reduce legal and reputational risk.
Assists the Director of Digital Services and performs digital services such as facilitating intake for support requests, escalating tasks based on urgency and priorities, assigning tasks in Basecamp to other members of the digital team using tracking codes to support project management and data analysis, monitoring completion of to-dos to help ensure on-time delivery of work as defined by project briefs and schedules, communicating updates and reminders to clients, updating websites and digital documents as assigned, reviewing work against quality control standards, using digital tools to complete web audits and inventories, preparing reports for clients and senior administrators, and conducting onboarding and training sessions. Digital services are completed to support strategic goals of UniversityCommuni cations and in support of digital projects and websites sponsored bythe Office of the President, Office of the Provost, and other senior leaders in central administration.
Completes website maintenance tasks as assigned by other members of the digital team or other senior members of the Communications Office, including high-priority and timely tasks for highly visible websites (University homepage , Coronavirus Resource Center, Human Resources, and other websites owned by University Communicat ions and central administration) that require efficiency and extreme attention to detail. Tasks include building new webpages and editing existing pages in both HTML and Wordpress based on instructions provided by other members of the digital team that map components and copy layouts and edits; using independent judgement to suggest refinements to instructions to improve the user experience and accessibility; completing edits to webpages and digital documents that require editor-level knowledge of HTML and WordPress; and conducting quality assurance reviews of all work completed and work as assigned against set checklists and according to standards and policies for accessibility, design, content strategy, branding, and web development. Completes work according to due dates and priority level set by the Director of Digital Services and the AVP for Digital Strategy. Communicates blockers and delays to team members with as much advance notice as possible to avoid long-term delays in project schedules and according to expectations of senior administrators , including the University President and Provost. As assigned follows up with clients on reviews and sign-offs of completed tasks to ensure the work meets expectations. Documents feedback from clients and works with the Director of Digital Services to document, scope, and assign additional work as requested bv clients. Documents completion of tasks to ensure accurate trackina of work.
As assigned, uses digital tools to audit, update, edit, and optimize digital content and documents for accessibility, usability, and quality based on specified standards to ensure compliance with best practices and with Universitv oolicies, standards, and guidelines.Under direction of the Director of Digital Services, helps facilitate digital services intake, workflow, and project management tasks for the digital team in University Communications. Follows Agile and SCRUM methodology to track tasks in Basecamp and to monitor and provide status updates on progress to directors, clients, and stakeholders. Monitors status and tracks completion of tasks. Engages with clients and stakeholders as needed through the intake and all phases of work to ensure tasks and projects are completed according to schedules and specifications. As assigned and according to project schedules,follows up with digital team members, clients, and stakeholders to support effective oroiect management, transparency, and collaboration.
Under the direction of the Director of Digital Services, helps develop, coordinate, and deliver one-on-one training sessions with web administrators and web editors to support best practices and to comply with digital and brand policies, standards, and guidelines. Consults on development of University-wide accessibility and usability training initiatives for digital teams and web administrators and editors. Supports web governance initiatives as needed.

Three years of experience in communications, marketing, or related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Exceptional attention to detail, organization, deadline management.
Proofing, reviewing, and editing materials written for the web.
Editor-level knowledge of HTML, WordPress, and content management systems.
Comfort with learning about emerging digital technologies best practices.
Experience with Adobe Acrobat, Microsoft Office Suite.
Experience with Agile/SCRUM; Basecamp; and project management tools
Experience using digital accessibility tools.
Experience using customer relationship management tools.
