Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Under the direction of the Operations Manager, the Classroom Support Technician will be responsible for setting up, installing, operating, testing, and troubleshooting audio and video equipment such as projectors, microphones, speakers, conferencing equipment, and cameras. The ideal candidate for this position will have strong problem solving skills, customer service experience, and the ability to work well in a fast-paced environment. The Classroom Support Technician will be responsible for assisting with the daily operations of the ECM Help Desk as well as assisting other groups within ECM as needed.

Responsibilities:

Help Desk

  • Assisting with the daily operations of the ECM Classroom Support team

  • Act as an additional Help Desk Technician during peak service times and serve as professional resource for Help Desk staff during nights and weekends

Maintenance

  • Coordinate the proactive maintenance of locations serviced by Event and Classroom Management's Classroom Support team

  • Coordinating AV technical checks for registrar classrooms, computer labs, and various locations on campus with ECM installed technology

Events

  • Providing excellent customer service and support for events with University executives and Deans

  • Supporting audio and video conferencing for departments of AS&E

  • Supporting the use of the Rettner Hall video wall and other unique AV spaces

  • Coordinate delivery/setup of AV needs for events that occur in classroom locations

Clerical

  • Working with the Operations Manager to develop detailed and consistent documentation for department processes and policies

  • Managing and updating location information (photos, features, links) on ECM's Classroom Support website and in EMS Software

As Needed

  • Serve as Level 2 support for public printing related issues as needed

  • Assist other areas of ECM team with special projects as assigned

Qualifications:

Associate's degree in appropriate discipline; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
