Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY :

The Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) of the University of Rochester is a unique national resource for research and education in science and technology focusing on using lasers to initiate fusion and high energy density physics. LLE is currently seeking a laboratory technician in the Contamination Control group.

RESPONSIBILITIES

• Perform periodic cleaning of facility rooms to meet cleanroom standards, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping surfaces within the cleanrooms are primary activities.

• Perform cleaning of technical equipment within the facility per provided training

• Maintain stock of garments and materials for personnel entering the cleanroom areas

  QUALIFICATIONS

• HS diploma or equivalent

  REQUIRED SKILLS

• Abili ty to work in a cleanroom environment wearing appropriate cleanroom garments (ISO 5 and ISO 6)

• Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.

• High degree of manual dexterity

• Excellent verbal and written communication

• Strong interpersonal skills working in a team-based environment

• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e-mail/Word/Excel) and ability to learn additional software packages

• Comfortable accessing and working on elevated surfaces with appropriate fall safety training and equipment
