ResponsibilitiesPOSITION SUMMARY :
The Laboratory for Laser Energetics (LLE) of the University of Rochester is a unique national resource for research and education in science and technology focusing on using lasers to initiate fusion and high energy density physics. LLE is currently seeking a laboratory technician in the Contamination Control group.
RESPONSIBILITIES
Perform periodic cleaning of facility rooms to meet cleanroom standards, vacuuming, mopping, and wiping surfaces within the cleanrooms are primary activities.
Perform cleaning of technical equipment within the facility per provided training
Maintain stock of garments and materials for personnel entering the cleanroom areas
QUALIFICATIONS
HS diploma or equivalent
REQUIRED SKILLS
Abili ty to work in a cleanroom environment wearing appropriate cleanroom garments (ISO 5 and ISO 6)
Ability to lift up to 50 lbs.
High degree of manual dexterity
Excellent verbal and written communication
Strong interpersonal skills working in a team-based environment
Proficiency in Microsoft Office (e-mail/Word/Excel) and ability to learn additional software packages
Comfortable accessing and working on elevated surfaces with appropriate fall safety training and equipment
