University of Rochester Clinical Nurse Specialist for Ambulatory Care in Rochester, New York

Responsibilities

Opportunity to utilize educational and quality improvement skills extensively with a variety of programs in the ambulatory environment. Role will be to consistently assist areas to improve on their best related to performance improvement and education of staff. Will take an active role in assuring compliance with regulatory standards for practices both on and off-site. Must be self directed with excellent communication skills. Must be able to see projects through from start to finish. Will be trained on Lean processes and work with areas to achieve greater efficiency in their environments. Requires a Master’s degree in Nursing or Health-related field, 3 – 5 years of experience at an advanced level.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Clinical Nurse Specialist influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
