Function as the primary support contact for building automation in all new and retrofit construction work. Reviews all drawings, sketches, designs necessary to support the operation, construction and service groups. Responsible for coordinating medium to large automation jobs, leading private network growth. Assist in commissioning efforts by verifying energy savings, and providing mechanical troubleshooting guidance to all partners. Identify building automation systems for replacement/upgrades. Develop projects, bid lists and determine vendor. Coordinate decommissioning, providing information on existing alarm points. Serves as technical resource for all automation systems and their capabilities. Supervises the automation construction group and perform all associated managerial tasks. Champions effective communication, organization skills required. Ability to build partnerships with a variety of levels and provide excellent customer service.


AAS degree in a trade related discipline and 2-4 years’ experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.

Prefers 3-5 years’ experience in the management, operation and maintenance of building automation controls, or related field for a large institutional or commercial facility. Must have experience with building automation computer systems preferably Siemens Apogee and/or Andover Continuum, and/or Automated Logic WebControl. Experience in the construction is essential. Must have experience in environment with multi-vendor building automation systems. Requires computer literacy with AutoCAD, Microsoft Word, Microsoft Excel, and Microsoft Outlook computer programs and computerized maintenance management systems is helpful. Must be available for on-call responsibilities. Must have working telephone. Potential to drive UR vehicle, therefore, must have clean motor vehicle license.
