Department of OBGYN - Gender Diverse Surgical Support Program - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant

Responsibilities

Join our dynamic, interdisciplinary, Gender Diverse Surgical Support Program dedicated to helping youth and adults in our community reach their fullest potential. This exciting opportunity to become part of a multidisciplinary team requires promotion of equitable healthcare of the highest order to young adults and adult patients and their families. The Gender Diverse Surgical Support Team is dynamic and progressive, with a biopsychosocial approach and clinical expertise in sexual and reproductive health, and health care for transgender and gender diverse young adults and adults. The position includes outpatient clinical work.

Primary responsibilities include:

  • Provision of direct patient care for outpatient Gender Diverse patients in-person and telehealth visits.

  • Care coordination, as well as interfacing with specialty groups, interdisciplinary team members and community partners.

  • Provision of patient and family health education.

Strong communication and interpersonal skills required; must be able to respectfully and inclusively navigate discussions cross-culturally with staff, patients, and families. Experienced NP or PA strongly preferred. Current NYS license and FNP or PA registration required.

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Require a Master’s degree (or pending) as a Nurse Practitioner, an active New York State Registered Nurse license in good standing, an active/pending New York State Nurse Practitioner licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as an Nurse Practitioner.

Physician Assistant

Requires completion (or pending) of an ARC-PA approved Physician Assistant program, an active/pending New York State Physician Assistant licensure in good standing and current/pending national certification as a Physician Assistant by the NCCPA ( National Commission on Certification of Physician Assistants)

NPs and PAs will demonstrate clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relations skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. The APP will participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 92,997 - $139,506 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
