Full Time 40 hours Grade 077 Food & Nutrition Svcs/PatientResponsibilities
POSITION SUMMARY:To screen, assess, and implement diet interventions in conjunction with the Clinical Dietitians and Clinical Nutrition Specialists. Primarily works with Behavioral Health patients but may be assigned to infants, children, adolescents, adults or geriatric populations.
Screens and completes nutrition consults, diet educations and clarifies food allergies in conjunction with the Clinical Dietitian. Referrals to the Clinical Dietitian for handling non-routine diets or situations. Communicates pertinent nutrition or food preference recommendations to the clinical dietitian to promote positive outcomes for patients.
Checks, prepares and/or enters menus /tray tickets for routine and non-routine therapeutic diets, locking selections in the system without delaying tray assembly
Interacts with multi-disciplinary staff members on the units as needed to receive valuable input as it relates to patient meals. Communicates food quality/acceptance issues to department management that reflect trends; advises departmental staff in adjusting trays for changed diet orders.
Participates in departmental committees/activities to assure patient satisfaction with food service, and attend continuous education and in-service training to promote job development.
Calculates tube feeding orders for supply. Stocks items daily which requires a candidate be able to walk and stand for extended periods and lift up to 30 pounds.
Maintains the integrity of the selective menu system (CBORD), nourishment system and tube feeding inventory/ordering system;

Completion of an Associate degree granted by a U.S. regionally accredited college or university with the Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) Accredited Dietetic Technician Program OR Completion of a Baccalaureate degree granted by a US regionally accredited college/university, or foreign equivalent, and completion of an Accreditation Council for Education in Nutrition and Dietetics (ACEND) Didactic Program in Dietetics (DPD) required. Experience in a healthcare setting preferred.How To Apply
