Job Description

The Digital Strategist develops and implements digital marketing strategies for the Simon Business School, at the University of Rochester, to align with and support overarching institutional objectives. This role will apply a deep understanding of digital channel capabilities (web, social, email, media) to integrate marketing campaigns and connect the Simon brand and programs to priority audiences. The idea candidate know key social media platforms inside and out, and also be clued in to emerging networks. Remote, work from home option available.

Duties and Responsibilities

  • Daily and weekly management of digital marketing campaigns across multiple platforms (YouTube, Facebook/Instagram, LinkedIn, Twitter, Snapchat, etc.), including copy creation, campaign implementation, budget management, performance review, and basic optimizations

  • Managing day-to-day website and campaign activities across multiple accounts, including campaign strategy, audience targeting, platform setup, and campaign performance analysis

  • Oversee editorial and video content integration into social media platforms.

  • Monitor campaigns’ performance, and suggest improvements throughout the process

  • Understanding objectives and KPIs and to share campaign performance

  • Communicating insights and performance trends

  • Ensure all posts are optimized and tracked for performance

  • Collaborating with the Paid Digital team to ensure alignment between interactions or campaigns and paid media marketing efforts

  • Champion best practices in digital marketing and consumer technology trends to reach and engage both new and existing audiences and develop new channels when appropriate

  • Partner with internal stakeholders to develop marketing strategies and frameworks that are focused on moving audiences through the funnel to conversion

  • Develop and implement direct marketing methods and advertising strategies that will result in generating leads for customer acquisition

  • Work on special website projects

  • Demonstrate a commitment to diversity, inclusion, and cultural awareness through actions, interactions, and communications with others

    Qualifications and necessary skills

  • Five (5) years of proven experience in a digital marketing campaign management role or experience with marketing automation or customer data platforms (CDP)

  • Full understanding of all social media platforms with experience executing paid social media campaigns

  • Ability to work with graphic designers, writers, web developers and internal clients.

  • Knowledge of content management systems

  • Understanding of UTM parameters

  • Strong ability to adapt to new technologies

  • Excellent critical-thinking skills

  • Data analysis experience, preferred

  • Interpersonal, time management, and project management skills a must

  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Experience with Google Analytics preferred

  • Experience with Google Data Studio a plus

  • Proficiency with Microsoft Word, PowerPoint, and Excel

  • Professional experience creating and optimizing content for platforms including Facebook, Instagram, LinkedIn, and TikTok

  • Must be dedicated, reliable, flexible and confident problem-solver

  • Attention to detail and follow-through to team members and clients

  • Proactive approach with positive, can-do attitude

  • Bachelor’s degree (or higher)
