Responsibilities

General Purpose:

Serves as an administrative agent, space planner, and business manager of the Department of Pediatrics and Golisano Children’s Hospital.

Responsibilities:

Will independently set policy and priorities, plans, establishes and oversees the administrative procedures of business and space planning. Will work in collaboration with and operations, research, and educational programs, on business and space projects. Typically, responsibilities include most or all of the following, as well as other related duties.

Directs and coordinates maintenance of departmental accounts. Prepares data for operating budgets and for financial reports. Prepares analyses and allocates expenses. Coordinates expenditures and property controls; reviews and approves invoices, payrolls and other personnel actions.

Determines equipment needs and makes allocations within the department or project. Initiates or authorizes orders for space, equipment, supplies and services. Prepares budget for purchase or repair of major equipment. Maintains liaison with respect to maintenance, custodial, purchasing and other central services.

Represents and serves as spokesman for department and project lead in communicating instructions and in interpreting administrative matters, space projects and changes to students, clients, faculty, staff and the general public.

Answers correspondence and other inquiries involving the interpretation of University as well as departmental policy, regulations, procedures, etc.; guides subordinates on replies to routine correspondence. Compiles and analyzes statistics and prepares analytical and evaluative reports; writes operating or procedural manuals, instructions, etc.; and prepares materials for publication about the unit's activities. Prepares business plans and BOD presentations for major space projects.

Leads planning meetings, conference symposia etc., and coordinates the arrangements and preparation of program literature, brochures, project designs, workflows, and other materials.

Selects, assigns, supervises staff, that are involved in business planning and space projects; develops and establishes procedures and schedules to meet operation needs.

Lead Administrator for Pediatric Strategic Plan, arranging retreats, agenda, pillar score cards, and presentations.

Performs other related duties as required.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience

  • 5 years related experience or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master’s preferred.

  • Prefer five year’s relevant experience including at least two years at a managerial level. Experience in administration and space planning with financial responsibilities required.
