Responsibilities
The Department of Orthopaedics seeks applicants for a full-time faculty position as Division Chief of Musculoskeletal Trauma. Candidates should be board certified in orthopaedic surgery with fellowship training in musculoskeletal trauma. Leadership experience in orthopaedics is an advantage. Candidates must be eligible for an unrestricted New York State medical license. A post-offer health assessment is required.
Responsibilities:
Responsibilities include patient care, resident education, and both research in, and also administrative leadership of, the Division of Musculoskeletal Trauma in the Department of Orthopaedics. The successful candidate will lead a division comprised of four experienced trauma fellowship-trained surgeons. The University of Rochester is a major tertiary care center, is one of the busiest centers in New York for fracture fixation and is the regional Level I trauma center. The orthopaedics residency graduates 8 residents each year, and there is an ACGME-accredited fellowship in musculoskeletal trauma. The Department provides outstanding research opportunities through the Center for Musculoskeletal Research, our state-of-the-art motion analysis laboratory, and our extensive patient-reported outcome data warehouse.
