Responsibilities

POSITION SUMMARY :

Acquired thorough understanding of the Performance Analytics (HPM) costing software; Gains knowledge of Workday (GL) to use as a source for GL data incorporated into the cost system. Develop operational knowledge of clinical performance to determine and design costing methodology to most accurately apply costs to clinical activity. Apply costing methodologies, including assumptions, allocations, statistics, and direct allocations to accurately reflect costs at a service item and patient level.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES :

Under the direction of the Cost Manager:

Develops and maintains detailed analysis of statistics used in cost process to allocate overhead expenses to patient care areas. (20%)

Performs analysis and tests to ascertain integrity of cost data, completes reconciliation of financial statements to management reports. (20%)

Completes periodic costing on a timely basis for incorporation into the global and chief reports. (20%)

Maintains analytical expertise to assist with data collection and guidance to key customers throughout the organization. (10%)

Collaborates with the URMC Finance Teams in further defining and analyzing financial modeling. (10%)

Evaluates performance reporting protocols and objectives. May write or assist in writing procedures that control reporting needs and processes to most accurately reflect costs. (10%)

Works with Decision Support System Administration in supporting the data management processes of hospital and medical faculty group, costing and reporting tools, and assists in ensuring that all feeds are fed properly, audited and integrated into the data bases efficiently and timely. (10%)

REQUIREMENTS :

Bachelor's degree with major course work in Finance or Accounting, or related field desirable, and 3-4 years’ experience in the analysis and dissemination of information; or an equivalent combination of education and experience.
