Golisano Children's Hospital Chief Nursing Officer (CNO)

Serves as the principal nursing administrative officer for and directs all activities of Golisano Children’s Hospital nursing programs. Works, in collaboration with the CNE of URMC, to establishes institutional standards for nursing practice and assure policies and procedures are evidence based and in compliance with all accepted standards. Directs and coordinates Golisano Children’s Hospital and health system activities related to the provision of nursing care. The CNO assures that competent, compassionate patient care is uniformly provided to pediatric patients in all settings within GCH. Together with the Pediatrician in Chief and the Chief Clinical Officer of Golisano Children’s Hospital, ensures the integration of various disciplines to provide comprehensive patient care to pediatric patients. Collaborates with other Senior Leaders within Golisano Children’s Hospital to address the health care needs of children within our community and region. Works with the Director of Pediatric Nursing, Assistant Directors of Nursing, and Nurse Managers within Golisano Children’s Hospital to develop mechanisms for the systematic review and improvement of their clinical areas to ensure that nursing and patient care services are provided in a safe, efficient, effective, caring, and evidence-based manner that is responsive to the needs of patients and their families. Initiates and facilitates broad-based performance improvement activities to assure efficient, effective, quality care. Assists in identifying ways to optimize the effective use of hospital and nursing resources to ensure that programs are fiscally responsible. Integrates clinical, human resources, and financial data in decision making and reporting. Establishes priorities and advocates for effective and efficient allocation of resources. Oversees the development of operational and capital budgets for all GCH inpatient nursing units. Licensed to practice in the State of New York, Preferred : Doctoral degree strongly preferred with a focus in nursing and/or nursing leadership (would be required within 5 years)

Pay Range

Pay Range: $62.26-93.41

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
