Imaging Project Manager

GENERAL PURPOSE:

The Imaging Project Manager is a member of a cross-functional team where teamwork, collaboration, balancing competing priorities and continuous learning are the norm. This position is a member of the Imaging operations team and collaborates with Medical Center and Department business, financial, operational and other stakeholders as designated. Responsibilities include project management services for key department projects with oversight and coaching from a manager or Department Leadership Team member. Conforms to established guidelines, standards and conventions for project management and business requirements documentation.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Manages assigned opertational projects with input from department leadership as needed. Gathers input from team members on required tasks and translates into a project plan with tasks, activities, dependencies, timelines, milestones, resource requirements and deliverables. Monitors progress of project activities and ensures all critical implementation criteria are met.

  • Coordinates with various Medical Center Division Finance Offices, Resource Managers, Medical Center Leaders, and Project Sponsors as needed to ensure project team follows department processes for quality assurance, training and support.Organizes and leads project meetings using effective meeting techniques for objectives, agendas, participants and meeting minutes. Develops and maintains reporting dashboards suitable for Senior Leadership to communicate project status. Conducts post-project “lessons learned” sessions to identify successful project elements and areas for future improvement.

  • Identifies, tracks and manages risks and mitigation plans within assigned projects, escalating as appropriate. Identifies, tracks and manages issues to resolution within assigned projects, escalating as appropriate.

  • Determines scope of the problem/project through collaboration with the executive project sponsor, key users and key department members. Determines need and assigns appropriate resources to the project with input from department leadership as needed. Obtains necessary approvals.

  • Manages project scope and timeline using appropriate governance bodies. Provides status reports to steering committees. Utilizes a variety of project management methodologies as appropriate to the project.

  • Aligns projects and goals to business and strategic intiatives and goals.Understands other University service providers. Assesses and optimizes team roles, etc, to meet user and business needs, making changes when necessary. Attends webinars, reads case studies and white papers and participates in other opportunities to further refine skills and stay apprised on project management topics. Builds and maintains internal departmental relationships.

  • Makes presentations to staff on work-related issues. Serves on committees and attends meetings as requested.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • Bachelor's degree with major course work in social or technical field required, and Master's degree in Library Science, Information Science or related field desirable

  • 4-5 years of related experience required

  • or equivalent combination of education and experience required

  • Experience in healthcare or higher education field preferred

  • ServiceNow, JIRA, Smartsheet, Clarity PPM or Project Portfolio Management (PPM) software experience preferred

  • Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage projects required

  • Excellent communication (written and verbal), presentation, analytical and problem solving skills required

  • Extensive computer literacy, including Microsoft Project, Teams and Powerpoint preferred

  • Certified Associate in Project Management (CAPM) may be required within a year of hire preferred

  • Project Management Professional (PMP) certification preferred

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 50,000 - $100,000 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
