Imaging Science Regulatory and Education Coordinator

Responsibilities

General Purpose

Under the direction of Imaging Sciences Clinical Manager, providers oversight of employee credentialing and compliance along with all quality assurance regulatory requirements per NYS DOH and The Joint Commission. Collaborates directly with leadership, managers, outside departments, and vendors. Independently troubleshoots, resolves complex issues and ensures required projects are completed on time. Effectively creates process improvements for increased efficiency and workflows. Works directly with the Manager of Clinical Operations on matters such as maintaining the department’s lead inventory, reject/repeat analysis, Quality Improvement projects, dosimetry inventory management as well as other tasks as assigned.

Specific Responsibilities

  • Manages Regulatory Compliance & Quality Assurance required reporting per New York State Department of Health & Joint Commission. Creates quality assurance reports based on output from various Imaging equipment across the Enterprise. Reports are provided to Radiation Safety and Joint Commission when requested and discussed at the quarterly Imaging QA meeting.

  • Maintains lead garment inspections & reporting. Collaborates with outside departments looking to Imaging for guidance regarding appropriate Lead maintenance

  • Responsible for managing the required repeat reject analysis as required by the Dept. Of Imaging Sciences and Radiation Safety.

  • Works closely with the Clinical Manager of Operations during New York State DOH and Joint Commission Inspections.

  • Reviews and updates department’s Emergency Preparedness Manual biannually

  • Oversees Credentials Compliance & QA for SharePoint database.

  • Clinical staff primary source verifications for state licensure & national registrations.

  • Daily oversight of database for upcoming expirations & renewals.

  • Continual communications with staff and managers of upcoming credentials expiration dates.

  • Communicates with NYSDOH regarding updates & changes and relays information to department leadership.

  • Database used as a resource for inspections and credentials verification.

  • Manages Mandatory Clinical Education QA & Compliance for new hires, existing staff, college interns and volunteers. Develops & evaluates educational material. Maintains required documentation.

  • Facilitates new hire orientation.

  • AHRA Institutional Provider to supply continuing education credit opportunities for licensed clinical staff.

  • Monitor ALL annual mandatory education requirements for staff and follow up as needed.

  • Serves as subject matter expert per New York State Department of Health, regulatory quality assurance compliance, licensing management, continuing & mandatory education compliance and Imaging Sciences department orientations. Collaborates with, NYSDOH, URMC Learning & Development, MyPath Education Team, Radiation Safety, Clinical Engineering & AHRA: The Association of Medical Imaging Management.

  • Participates in various committees and meetings as directed by the Imaging Clinical Manager of Operations

Requirements

  • Graduation from college or an equivalent combination of experience and training required

  • Associates from approved School of Radiologic Technology with current NYS Professional licensure and ARRT registry preferred

  • or equivalent combination of education and experience preferred

  • 3 years of related work experience, including at least 1 years in an administrative capacity in an academic office or project management, or the equivalent experience in business required.

  • Quality Assurance experience in a healthcare setting, preferred.

  • Experience as a licensed Radiologic Technologist preferred or equivalent combination of experience and education preferred.

  • Strong computer skills with advanced working knowledge of Microsoft Office. Must be able to work autonomously and self- directed, with strong organizational skills and the ability to prioritize. Excellent communication and Presentation skills required.

  • New York State licensed & Nationally registered Radiologic Technologist preferred.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 20.00 - $ 38.46 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
