Provide analysis, troubleshooting, design, implementation and operational support for Strong Health network. Provide first and second level support for large customer base whose business functions rely primarily on computer-based technologies. Maintain expertise in current desktop and network technologies, as well as wide range of systems, applications, and customized needs in support of research, Medical Center, and academic initiatives.
Under limited direction of AIT Management, with considerable latitude for independent technical initiative, provide the following services:
Assess, interpret and analyze customer technical problems received via Help Desk services or electronic methodologies. Utilize strong technical expertise to resolve existing problems related to desktop and LAN technologies. Maintain working knowledge of wide range of Strong Health systems and technologies. Provide first and second level technical response to maintenance, urgent and emergency technical problems associated with the Strong Health computer network. Responsible for providing support to the Research and AIT Macintosh end user community including off site locations.
Assist with the coordination and implementation of Strong Health technical strategies as they relate to research, administration and academia. Provide technical expertise in meeting customer satisfaction and meeting enterprise strategic goals.
Provide project management functions associated with desktop technical implementations and/or changes on the URMC/Strong Health network. Under general guidance, develop project timelines and milestones; communicate with appropriate user base; set priorities and manages progression of project implementation. Provides appropriate communication to other technical support staff. Develops and maintains appropriate documentation. Participate in project enterprise-wide implementation
Provide customer base with desktop consulting services regarding purchases, implementations, supported technologies, and assisting in the definition of desktop needs based on business functionality.
Keep abreast of current desktop and LAN technologies through continuing education, journal review, web searches, and formal seminar opportunities.
Associate’s degree in related discipline required plus 1-2 years of experience in related field; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
Advanced level of PC, Macintosh and Windows expertise and understanding (1-2 years hands on experience) strongly preferred.
Basic understanding of LAN/WAN technologies, including design, hardware, and protocols.
Advanced problem-solving techniques.
Demonstrated project management skills.
