ResponsibilitiesGENERAL PURPOSE:This is a full-time entry-level position in the Hospital Medicine Division and General Medicine Division to conduct patient safety, quality improvement, and medical education research under the direction of the Hospital Medicine Director of Faculty Development and the General Medicine Division Chief. Primary responsibilities include working with ISD to collect data from EPIC, developing and administering surveys in RedCap, providing input on study design, and preparing and designing forms and spreadsheets for upcoming research studies. The position involves basic data analysis and interpretation. Other tasks include consenting patients onto studies and collecting study data from these patients. Involvement in general data organization is needed.
SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:
Support implementation of research studies and quality improvement projects
Create forms for data management team regarding new protocols
Edit, design, and create active protocol checklist and audit forms
Review forms for new studies and create key for data management team
Prepare forms for IRB application and monitoring
Data collection and management
Design surveys in RedCap
Administer surveys to faculty and other stakeholders
Monitor responses, interpret data, and provide updates to research team
Scan and clean databases using basic analyses
Collaboration with ISD
- Work with ISD to gather data reports from EPIC
Enter and merge EPIC reports with database for data analysis
Support daily operations for research studies and quality improvement projects
Document and monitor timelines
Answer telephone and email inquiries
Schedule meetings and distribute agendas
Monitor students in directors’ absence
Regulatory Reporting
Assist with data entry and analysis and preparation of reports for publication.
Prepare and collate patient study information, status reports, and updates as necessary for reporting on the progress of studies in order to accomplish a timely completion.
Other duties as assigned.
REQUIREMENTS:
Required:
Bachelor’s degree with major coursework in social or technical field required.
An equivalent combination of education and experience required
Preferred:
Ability to work independently, with supervision as needed
Candidates should demonstrate flexibility and be comfortable and familiar with patient and team interactions
Strong attention to detail, interpersonal, and communication skills, both verbal and written
Ability to prioritize tasks, take direction, and adhere to regulatory requirements and IRB standards.
Proficiency with Excel
