Responsibilities

GENERAL PURPOSE:Gathers information, analyzes and interprets data, disseminates information; helps formulate goals, protocols and information gathering methods. SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

  • Collects data by the use of questionnaires, interviews, reports and searches of existing journals, etc. as it relates to active grants. Compiles data in useful formats for the projects that are active under the efforts of the related grants.

  • Perform a large number of computer search strategies. Reviews retrieved information for pertinence to the project and as it may apply to grant related activities. Prepares and presents retrieved information in useful formats for the projects that are active under the efforts of the related grants.

  • Meets with project participants to help formulate project goals and determine protocols and information gathering methods. May assist in design, development and programming of systems needed to meet optimum data presentation goals for grant reviews. Prepares data presentations in useful formats for the projects that are active under the efforts of the related grants.

  • Maintains records and conducts correspondence with a variety of agencies and officials that provide a source of information. Prepares reports and recommendations based upon analysis of information gathered as it pertains to grant related functions.

  • Other duties as assigned

REQUIREMENTS:Bachelor's degree with major course work in social or technical field and some graduate level course work in that field (or library science or information science), and 1-2 years experience in the analysis and dissemination of information; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Knowledge of programming and statistical programming packages would be helpful
