The candidate should perform production work requiring full professional competency with a good background in related fields. Using an already established method of manufacture involving 3D printing and injection molding, anatomical models will be created for surgical practice. Strong work ethic and organizational skill will be required to meet strict deadlines.
Build anatomically correct models of human organs with surrounding structures relevant to the simulated operative procedure.
This involves filling of injection molds
Processing of injection molds
Placing molds in freezer
Removal from freezer to thaw
Calculating time necessary to complete freeze/thaw cycle
Combination of multiple sub-steps into whole
The candidate must also operate a 3-D printer. The printer will be used for printing various injection molds. The candidate will also be required to maintain the 3D printer in cases of simple mechanical malfunctions (e.g. filament clog).
Complete lab upkeep responsibilities – replenish stores of raw materials, maintain a clean workspace, monitor inventory.
High school graduation with courses in sciences and mathematics; or equivalent combination of education and experience.
