The Legacy System eRecord Clinical Analyst is a member of a cross-functional team where teamwork, collaboration, challenges and continuous learning are the norm.
Primary goals of this position include:
Maintaining Legacy systems throughout the transition to eRecord
Overseeing the timelines around legacy system work and new eRecord work for the Affilate hopsitals
Gaining workflow efficiencies
Improving patient care
Primary responsibilities of the position include:
Overseeing the day to day responsilibilites of the supporting the legacy systems
Recommending, planning, evaluating and translating clinical practice/operations into electronic content and workflows using the eRecord system for URMC and Affilates
Coordinating projects and activities
Interacting with a diverse team as well as the Hospital and Medical Center management and staff
Position requires successfully achieving and maintaining Epic certifcation(s) appropriate to the application the position supports.
Collaborates with the project team, subject matter experts, training and technical teams to effect system changes that reflect an in-depth understanding of the business and end user requirements while also considering impact to integrated components and standardization.
Leads in-depth analysis of workflows, data collection, report details, and other technical issues associated with legacy system and/or Epic. Collaborates and uses critical thinking skills to identify and anticipate potential problems . Acts as a team resource.
Completes all phases of assigned tasks and responsibilities related to the legacy system transition project.
Reviews requested enhancements; prioritizes and implements requested changes to the system.
Leads and ensures successful resolutions of legacy system and/or Epic issues while applying a broad knowledge of application, workflow and integration.
Formulates and executes plans associated with the legacy system changes and/or ensures the Epic upgrade process (necessary build, testing, and education) has been completed according to plan. Mentors team members.Takes the initiative to identify and resolve complex issues.
Monitors, contributes to, and ensures standardization of system build, including following naming and numbering conventions and security classifications, clinical database/spreadsheets for the system build and change control, adhering to organizational policies and procedures
Provides guidance and mentoring for clinical customers and others on the team to include precepting emerging eRecord staff.
Other duties as assigned
Bachelor's degree in related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering required;
Masters degree preferred.
4-5 years of related experience required;
2-3 years in a supervisory capacity preferred;
or an equivalent combination of education and experience required.
2 years of clinical experience in a healthcare setting, preferably within ambulatory or acute care environment preferred.
Strong attention to detail, ability to develop creative solutions to complex problems, and develop critical thinking skills preferred .
Ability to influence and lead change preferred .
Excellent oral and written communication, presentation, analytical and problem solving skills required
Ability to lead meetings utilizing effective meeting management methodologies preferred .
Displays a solid technical aptitude and has an understanding of computer systems and IT functions; skilled in using Microsoft software required .
Documented Legacy System (s) Competency required
Preliminary work for Epic certification in related application preferred
Epic certifcation(s) appropriate to the application the position supports. Preferred upon hire; required once in position
