Under the general direction of the Director of Clinical Operations, the Manager of the KED/DXA program is responsible for day to day operations. The primary goal of this position is to direct and assure smooth operations of all work flows within the KED lab and DXA programs. They are to provide operational excellence within all aspects of the program to enhance the faculty and resident satisfaction within the department. This Manger will ensure that all requests and services receive the highest level of service, and that care providers function in a highly efficient environment. Target areas of professional focus will also include oversight of maintenance contracts, compliance program for shadowing, cadaver procurement and coordination of the skills labs for industry support & requests both for educational and research opportunities. The will be responsible to strengthen the diverse array of integrated services and maintain services with all divisions, including but not limited to Funeral Director, Ortho ASC, IBR, ACGME, residents, faculty, CMSR and most importantly the patients.
KED lab – arrange for specimens, coordinate lab staffing, participate in yearly lab inspection, organize weekly resident labs, monthly intern skills labs and fellow labs as well as Industry sponsored labs. Maintain service agreements and repairs of equipment as needed. Maintain relationship with Funeral Director for transport of specimens as needed.
Assists in determining equipment needs and makes allocations within the department or project. Initiates or authorizes orders for space, equipment, supplies and services. Recommends the purchase or repair of major equipment.
DXA—Interaction with DXA technologists by maintaining schedules in e record, approving tech time off and day to day problem solving (i.e. equipment failure, clinical study organization/set up etc.) Billing/charge capture for technical portion of DXA visits. Organize Fracture Liaison Service (FLS) in coordination with MD, APP and PSS. Maintain service contracts on DXA units and arrange yearly service calls.
Selects, assigns, supervises and trains office, supply and laboratory or other staff; develops and establishes procedures and schedules to meet operation needs. Initiates related personnel actions. Approve bi-weekly payroll for techs and KED lab.
Shadowing/Unpaid Internships- following U of R policy collect all required documentation for internal and external shadows. Obtain faculty background checks for minor shadows. Submit documentation for unpaid internships through GME site. Maintain documentation for one year.
Other duties as assigned.
Graduation from college required.
3 years of related work experience including at lease 1 year in an administratvie capacity in an academic office or project management, or the equibalent experience in business.
