OB/GYN Nursing - Service Educator - Obstetric Service Clinical Nurse Specialist/Clinical Nurse Leader/APRN/Nurse Educator
FT position available, primarily days with occasional weekend responsibilities
Exciting opportunity for a motivated educator and leader to develop staff and be involved in many new and already established initiatives that center on providing the highest quality care to our patients and their families. The main areas of responsibility are education, development and review of standards of care, orientation, in-services, and validation of OB/GYN competencies. This position will require the person to demonstrate highly developed program management and communication skills including inter-professional collaboration. The person will be required to lead projects, and teams, possess strong teaching skills including OB/GYN clinical skills expertise, policy writing, and presentation skills. This person must also be able to demonstrate strong organizational skills, ability to multi-task and adapt to changing priorities. A minimum of 6 years of relevant clinical experience in obstetrics is required. Master’s degree required. Candidate will present evidence of fetal monitoring proficiency- either in the form of a) NCC Certificate of Added Qualification in Electronic Fetal Monitoring; or b) passing score on PQF Fetal Monitoring Credentialing Exam within three months of hire.
Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Clinical Nurse Specialist influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
