University of Rochester Occupational Medicine - Nurse Practitioner/Physician Assistant in Rochester, New York

Schedule

FT position available, primarily days, 8 hour shifts.

Responsibilities

Nurse Practitioner to work in a busy clinical unit, providing patient evaluation through H & P, identification of ability for an individual to perform a specific job, injury care and follow-up care. Works independently, collaborating with onsite medical faculty as needed. Must have proven advanced practice skills, be clinically competent, and be able to work well in a team environment. Must be NYS certified as a NP/PA

Qualifications

Nurse Practitioner

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.

Physician Assistant

Completion of an AMA approved Physician Assistant program, licensure in good standing, and certified as a Registered Physician Assistant. Demonstrated clinical competence, superior verbal and written communication skills, interpersonal effectiveness and customer relation skills, computer competence and must have an active desire to learn. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
