General Description:

The Inpatient Operation Supervisor is assigned to a specific payer team with assigned work ques. The Supervisor will supervise the claim life cycle from inception to end by securing expected reimbursement. Ensures that all billing and payments are processed per payer regulations contracts, and compliance. Prepares and maintains daily, weekly, and monthly quality indicators for collection staff, identifying goals in each payer area. Trains, mentors and supervises. Will work with other departments within the facility, researching payer websites for claim status to payment, follow up calls to payers, sending adjustment claims, while developing the skill set of the inpatient reimbursement payment methodology for collection of services rendered. In addition, provide performance reviews, monthly AR report status to Manager.


Participate in department staff meetings, educational classes and trainings. Stay current on HIPAA guidelines through education and reading monthly emails. Participate in URMC trainings such as, but not limited to ICARE and Annual Mandatory in Service.


Prefer proficiency in Excel and Word processing with Epic billing system experience. Ideally this individual will be extremely organized, a team player, effective communicator and motivated to manage time sensitive projects and assignments. Bachelor’s or Associate’s Degree in Business, Health Care Administration or related discipline and 3-5 years of relevant health care experience or an equivalent combination with 1 year of demonstrated leadership experience. Working knowledge of Microsoft Word and Excel and a general knowledge of researching information via using the web .
