Responsibilities
Position Summary:
Responsible for all aspects- of patient processing within the program area including, but not limited to, check-in, check-out, appointment scheduling, payment collections, review of provider schedules and clerical support to the practice manager and department administrator.

Check patient in as "attended" in axiUm
Verify Patient Demographic, Insurance, Guarantor and Emergency Contact Information
Validate Insurance Eligibility -refer to Treatment Plan Coordinators when patient is not eligible
Request payments as indicated
Check-out procedures
Request payments
Re-appoint patients according to established department guidelines
Make referrals to Treatment Plan Coordinators for financial counseling
Maintain reception area
Responsible for reviewing provider schedules to ensure maximum utilization
Coordinate schedule changes
Review patient attendance history and schedule patients for appointments as needed Maintain a waiting list for patients requiring nitrous and schedule appointments as openings become available
Clerical Support to the Administrator and Practice Manager
Screen messages and return patient calls or distribute as appropriate
Special projects to gather data
LiaisonĀ· between patient and provider
Greeting of all patients
Paging providers for attended patient appointments
Communicating with provider for additional information in order to facilitate appointment scheduling
Retrieve, transcribe and deliver messages from the provider message line
Qualifications:
Strong customer service skills (telephone and face-to-face). Ability to communicate effectively. Ability to work with computers. Ability to work under pressure. Ability to multitask.
High school diploma. Medical office training or experience. Prior computer experience and customer service experience required. Dental terminology and/or bilingual talents a plus.
