Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Seeking an individual who will provide direct support the Pacer Lab staff by performing technical and clerical duties in the office to allow the lab to run more efficiently. This role with be primarily responsible for the 30 day cardiac event monitoring program which involves placing monitors on patients and teaching them how to use the device. In addition to the event monitoring program, this role will also be responsible for enrolling new patients with implanted devices into the Cardiology Clinic, responding to group emails and in-basket messages, follow up with patients who have missed their home remote monitoring tests, and answer phone calls made to the lab by patients, staff, and other clinics. Pacer Tech will demonstrate patience, compassion and professionalism while speaking with patients over the phone and when seeing patients in the clinic or on the floor. FT hours Mon-Fri. No holidays or weekend commitment.

Responsibilities:

Event Monitoring Program

  • Placing event monitors on patients in the clinic or on the floor and teaching them how to use the monitor

  • Enrolling new event monitor patients on the Biotel website

  • Print episode reports off the Biotel website and prepare them for MD to sign

  • Call patients to schedule appointment for event monitor if they were discharged prior to receiving monitor

  • Contact Biotel for extra monitors and supplies if needed (extra lead wires, electrodes, battery packs)

Enrolls, group emails, in-basket messages

  • Entering data for patients into the specified device website, Erecord and our Scottcare programs

  • Scheduling patients for their first remote device test and send a welcome letter

  • Check group email for new device implants and enroll them accordingly

  • Check group in-basket messages frequently and respond to them accordingly

Answering phone, following up with patients

  • Answer phone calls made to the lab and answer questions appropriately

  • Follow up with patients who have missed their remote tests and reschedule them accordingly

  • Check phone messages throughout the day

Requirements:

Requirements: AA or BS degree in medical related field, plus 2 years experience in a direct patient care related position or equivalent combination of education, on the job training and experience. Cardiology background preferred. Excellent word processing and computer skills necessary.
