GENERAL PURPOSE:Provides direct support to the Pacer Lab staff by performing technical and clerical duties in the office to allow the lab to run more efficiently. Primary duties consist of responsibility for the 30-day event monitoring program, including placing monitors on patients and teaching them how to use the device. Responsible for enrolling new patients with implanted devices into the Cardiology Clinic, responding to group emails and in-basket messages, follow-up with patients who have missed their home remote monitoring tests, and answering phone calls made to the lab by patients, staff, and other clinics. The Pacer Tech III will demonstrate patience, compassion, and professionalism while speaking with patients over the phone and when seeing them in-person in the clinic or on the floor. JOB DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES:1. Places event monitors on patients in the clinic or on the floor. Teaches patients how to use monitor. 2. Enrolls new event monitor patients on the device-monitoring software company website.3. Generates episode reports off the device-monitoring software company website and prepares them for provider to sign.4. Enters data for patients into specified device website.5. Checks group email for new device implants and enrolls accordingly. 6. Answers phone calls made to the lab, checks voicemails and responds to questions.7. Contacts discharged patients to schedule appointment to obtain monitor. 8. Contacts device-monitoring software company for extra monitors and supplies (i.e. extra lead wires, electrodes, battery packs, etc.) if needed. 9. Schedules patients for first remote device test and sends welcome letter.10. Checks and responds to group in-basket messages frequently.11. Follows up with and reschedules patients who have missed their remote tests.12. Other duties as assigned.QUALIFICATIONS: High School diploma required. 2 years of experience in a direct patient care related position required or equivalent combination of education and experience. Excellent data entry and computer skills required; Cardiology background preferred.
