Location Psychiatric Department Full/Part Time Favorite Job Regular/Temporary Regular Schedule

Full time position available, Monday through Friday Days. No call.

Responsibilities

Work as a member of a multidisciplinary team in providing psychiatric evaluations and recommendations as a consultant to a large pediatric inpatient service with a diverse group of patients with varying diagnoses. Work collaboratively with pediatric nursing leadership and staff as requested, providing liaison activities such as educational offerings, assistance with behavioral management of patients, and debriefings. The NP will also participate in the education of learners (students and new employees), using clinical learning experiences, knowledge sharing and skill training. Required: NYS RN license; Master’s Degree in Psychiatric Mental Health Nursing, ANCC Certified or Board Eligible. New graduates are welcome to apply and further develop their practice within this highly experienced mentoring multidisciplinary team, including Board-Certified Child and Adolescent Psychiatrists, psychiatry residents and fellows.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
