Pediatric Specialty Nurse for Division of Pediatric Hematology/Oncology - Registered Nurse, Level II

Responsibilities

An exciting multi-faceted nursing position is available in the Division of Pediatric Hematology and Oncology. This position has a variety of duties including telephone care management, patient and family education, coordination of care with the inpatient pediatric hematology/oncology team and with home health agencies, case management of select patients with complex medical conditions, and coordination of clinical research activities in the outpatient clinic. Must work collaboratively with all members of the health care team to provide highest quality, family centered, and compassionate care. Position requires strong assessment, interpersonal and communication skills. Requires an RN with current NYS license. Previous pediatrics experience desirable.

Qualifications

Requires a Diploma, Associate or Bachelor's degree from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State RN license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 6-12 months of RN experience. This position assumes the charge nurse role, actively participates in unit/service activities, supports co-workers, and assesses unit needs.
