Responsibilities

The Department of Biostatistics and Computational Biology at the University of Rochester is seeking highly qualified applicants for an open rank tenure-track faculty position. Academic rank will be commensurate with credentials. The Department has a strong preference for attracting applicants with dual interests in the development of statistical methodology (theory and/or computation) and collaborative scientific research. A specific focus of this search is on candidates with methodological and collaborative research interests in one of the following general areas: (a) statistical or computational neuroscience, with interests in brain imaging or neural signal data analysis, along with training or expertise in areas such as high-dimensional data analysis, spatial temporal data analysis, machine learning, data integration and data visualization; or, (b) wearable devices (e.g., analyzing data derived from accelerometers, heart monitors, and smartphones, and other forms of mobile monitoring and/or sensing) and related areas in digital health. More generally, the department is interested in hiring faculty with interests in the design and monitoring of clinical trials (including early phase and adaptive trials) and/or "precision health" applications (e.g., high-throughput -omics and imaging, statistical bioinformatics and related areas). Department faculty collaborate with many departments and centers across the University of Rochester Medical Center, and outstanding candidates with research interests in areas that complement existing and emerging funded research programs will also receive full consideration.

Position Qualifications: Doctoral degree in biostatistics, statistics or strongly related discipline. Candidates must have excellent oral and written communication skills. Candidates for Associate Professor and Professor positions should also have an established track record of peer-reviewed publications, demonstrated success in attracting extramural research funding, and evidence of teaching excellence at the graduate level.

Interested individuals should apply on-line to Job posting #218475 at http://www.rochester.edu/working/hr/jobs/
