JOB SUMMARY:

The Program Coordinator will assist with programmatic and fiscal oversight of the CDC-funded Finger Lakes Rural Immunization Initiative (FLRII) in collaboration with a team of investigators and reporting to the Program Manager, FLRII.

Under the direction of the Program Manager, will support and deliver on project activities and evaluation, focusing on COVID-19 vaccine awareness, education, and vaccine strategies for the 9-county Finger Lakes Region, (Genesee, Livingston, Monroe, Ontario, Orleans, Seneca, Wayne, Wyoming, Yates) especially focusing on rural populations.

Together with the Program Manager, will work with community partners and other collaborators to increase vaccine awareness, knowledge and acceptance of COVID-19 vaccine throughout the Finger Lakes region. The Coordinator will work with a variety of partners including local health departments, community organizations, physicians and other providers and will be expected to communicate the value of vaccine and to understand and communicate opportunities to improve access and uptake.

The Finger Lakes Rural Immunization Initiative (FLRII) is a one year grant.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

25% Conducts ongoing program evaluation to ensure performance measures and program goals are met. Assures timely, accurate collection, analysis, and submission of all data, monthly reports, billing requests, and vouchers. Coordinates maintenance of project budget, the preparation of data for budget requests and financial reports. Coordinates expenditure controls.

25% Maintains a working knowledge of COVID-19 vaccination and vaccine hesitancy by reviewing research literature and participating in pertinent meetings and seminars. Provides professional direction within the project.

20% Represents the CTSI, URMC and vaccine Hub and Task Force in community and professional settings to promote vaccine education, patient navigation, and vaccine services throughout the Finger Lakes Region with a focus on rural areas and strategies for ensuring vaccination.

15% Builds, develops, and maintains collaborative relationships with health, human service, educational and other community organizations necessary to implement the activities and services of the programs. Educates clinical providers and community partners about COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccine to encourage vaccination.

10% Supports the development of quarterly operations reports to CDC, as required, including performance reports, outreach and recruitment activities, and progress toward work plan objectives.

5% Other project and job duties as assigned.

REQUIREMENTS

  • Bachelor’s degree (Masters degree preferred) in Public Health, Business Administration, or related field and at least 3-5 years of related experience. At least 3 years of experience in health program management preferred; will consider equivalent combination of education and experience.

  • Knowledge of immunization delivery and specific knowledge of COVID-19 and COVID-19 vaccines. Public health background helpful.

  • Excellent organizational , program delivery, and evaluation skills .

  • Strong interpersonal, presentation, and communication skills, including written communication.

  • Ability to work effectively with people of different cultural, economic, and educational backgrounds.

  • Strong computer skills and ability to quickly learn new programs. Proficient in MS Word, Excel, Outlook and PowerPoint.

  • Ability to travel within the Finger Lakes Region.
