Project Assistant I - Security Awareness Marketing

POSITION SUMMARY:

Project Assistant – Security Awareness Marketing will work under the direction of the Information Security Manager. The security awareness specialist will use creative marketing techniques to provide Information Security education and awareness to UR Staff, Students and faculty and assist with preparations for the Cyber Security Awareness Month activities in October 2024.

NOTE: The timeframe for this role is June 3 rd – August 9 th, 2024

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILITIES:

Work under the guidance of the department Information Security Manager and administration teams to assist with and/or actively lead activities pertaining to the assigned project including:

  • Assist with developing engaging and informative training and awareness education.

  • Assist with preparations for the October 2024 Cyber Security Awareness Month activities

  • Collaborate with the security team and other stakeholders to align the awareness and education objectives with the overall security strategy and goals.

  • Continuously research and stay updated on the latest security trends, threats, and best practices, and incorporate them into the programs as needed.

  • Evaluate and improve the awareness and education programs based on the feedback and outcomes, and ensure they are relevant, engaging, and impactful.

Learn and utilize cybersecurity processes and tools to market cybersecurity awareness throughout the organization.

Track lessons learned throughout assignment for presentation to UIT leadership team.

Learn and demonstrate use of Microsoft Office toolset, SharePoint, and other project office collaboration tools.

Work closely with manager, establishing a goal plan with objectives to be completed by conclusion of assignment.

REQUIREMENTS:

  • High school diploma or equivalent required

  • Matriculated in an undergraduate studies program in IT, business administration, healthcare administration, engineering, or related field preferred.

  • 1+ year of work experience is preferred.

  • or an equivalent combination of education training and/or experience required

  • No professional work experience is required.

  • Technical aptitude with ability to quickly learn new technology preferred.

  • Ability to express complex concepts effectively, both verbally and in writing preferred.

  • Solution oriented with a positive attitude preferred.

  • Strong ability to prioritize. Strong attention to detail preferred.

  • Reliable and able to establish trust with your team.

  • No professional certification required. Must be able to travel to designated sites as assigned.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $16.50 - $21.45 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
