Responsibilities

Position Summary:

Assists with day-to-day operation of a University ID production office; perform detailed computer application actions necessary to produce error free University identification cards and competently process ID card requests from members of the University community. This position is responsible for money handling skills to include making change, entering transactions into cash register and completing financial record forms.

Motor vehicle, computer, computer software applications, ID photo camera, ID card printer, credit card machine, cash register, telephone, copier, printer, FAX, burglar alarm system

Typical Duties:

  1. Use computer to search database for cardholder names; Use computer program and digital camera to take ID photos and print error free identification cards; Use computer to read and author e-mail messages; use information received in person or electronically to update various ID card lists and ID card database; Use Outlook calendar to schedule reminders for pending events (incoming groups, mobile ID sessions).

  2. Professionally greet visitors/customers in a storefront office setting, actively listen to customer requests/concerns and determine what is needed to answer questions and provide proper guidance and direction. Professionally interact with co-workers in a close proximity, high activity, high attention to detail office environment.

  3. Cash handling- use cash register to take in cash, checks and credit cards; be able to make change if needed; complete financial record keeping forms.

  4. Answer telephone; arm and disarm office burglar alarm system; use copier/fax, operate ID card computer application and printer, service ID printer by changing print ribbons, adding card stock, clear card jams and complete power reset cycle.

  5. Light work area cleaning (dusting, vacuuming).

  6. Perform normal work duties at occasional remote prescheduled ID printing sessions.

Qualifications:

Demonstrates computer application skills necessary to complete a many step process culminating in the production of a flawless University photo identification credential; Demonstrate skills necessary to operate ID card printers to include ribbon changes and adding blank card stock, clearing card jams and performing printer power restarts; Demonstrates skill in communication including effectively gathering and disseminating detailed information; Demonstrates flexibility in decision making and prioritizing assignments; Demonstrates skill in proactively resolving problems, recommending and implementing continuous quality improvements.

*Education/Experience (minimum required):

Requires 1 year of relevant post High School education or equivalent and 1-2 years of related office related experience.
