Residency Program Coordinator

Responsibilities

PURPOSE:

This position provides direction, leadership, and day-to-day management of the educational and departmental activities related to the resident training program. The coordinator must demonstrate initiative, resourcefulness, and problem-solving skills in applying a detailed knowledge of the responsibilities, functions and underlying management structure of the department and of the larger institution in organizing and independently prioritizing work, establishing procedures and systems and ensuring the orderly and timely workflow through the office. Coordinates and administers human resource functions and participates in budget review and financial processes. Acts for and makes decisions in the Program Director's absence within prescribed limits of authority.

SPECIFIC RESPONSIBILIES:

30% Administration, coordination and supervision of Department of lmaging Science's graduate medical education (GME) program ("Program"). Initiate and write new policies and procedures for residency program as appropriate, insuring compliance with ACGME requirements and other regulations as necessary. Participates in developing and implementing educational and credentialing activities. Manage and coordinate ACGME-conducted accreditation site visits for Program. Documentation and credentialing for all GME training conducted within the Department. Serve as liaison with Chief Residents.

30% Develops and monitors annual SMH and SMD operating and capital budgets for the Program. Compiles and analyzes budget information and prepares reports. Authorizes all expenditures and approves invoices, payrolls, and all paperwork for accounting and purchasing functions. Determines and follows through with equipment needs. Initiates orders for equipment and supplies. Maintains liaison with service departments.

20% Maintain resident personnel files, confidential correspondence, and teaching and performance evaluations. Evaluates resident's performance records in preparation for letters of reference. Serve as Librarian and health information resource officer for the Department's library.

20% Administration, coordination and organization ofrecruitment, evaluation and selection of new residents. Review all residency applications and screen those appropriate for interview. Evaluate residency applications for completeness. Notify applicants of decision for interview. Use knowledge of ERAS (Electronic Residency Application Service) software to manage residency applications and compile reports as necessary. Administration and coordination of all resident applicant interviews, communication with applicants as necessary.

REQUIREMENTS:

Graduation from college or an equivalent combination of experience and training, Bachelor's degree in health care administration or related field preferred. 3 years of related work experience including at least 1 year in an administrative capacity in an academic office or project management, or the equivalent experience in business.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $ 20.00 - $ 38.46 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
