POSITION SUMMARY:

Inventories, receives, issues and stores a wide variety of supplies, materials, tools and equipment in a large stockroom or storeroom.

SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION RECEIVED:

Under general supervision of stockroom supervisor or other designated authority.

SUPERVISION AND DIRECTION EXERCISED:

May coordinate the work of lower classified staff; may orient and train new employees.

MACHINES AND EQUIPMENT USED:

Hand trucks, delivery carts, calculators, computer terminal, electric fork truck.

TYPICAL DUTIES:

  1. Checks stock as it is received against the requisition or invoice; resolves discrepancies. Accounts for all supplies and stock issued.

  2. Maintains an accurate inventory of all items in the stockroom. Takes a periodic inventory of stock on hand.

  3. Provides for proper storage, depending upon nature of articles. Packs and unpacks for storage or shipment.

  4. May originate orders which fall within a predefined stock system such as a perpetual inventory.

  5. Performs necessary clerical work as required.

  6. May perform other duties requiring comparable skill and responsibility as directed.

QUALIFICATIONS:

High School Diploma with the ability to write English and to understand oral and written instructions, 1-2 years of related experience; or an equivalent combination of education and experience

Pay Range

Pay Range: $17.06 - $23.34 Hourly

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum compensation for this job. Individual annual salaries/hourly rates will be set within the job’s compensation range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations.
