Responsibilities

I s responsible for the coordination and alignment of nursing policies, procedures, operations, quality, resources and enterprise strategic planning for Strong Memorial Hospital and surgical and procedural facilities across the UR Medicine System. In conjunction with the Senior Regional Medical Director, enterprise and facility-level leadership, and administrative peers in perioperative services, and his/her management teams, the Senior Director is responsible for carrying out the institutional goals related to perioperative nursing services and sterile processing throughout the region. The Senior Director will be the strategic and tactical leader for nursing systems initiatives across the enterprise. He/she will provide leadership and vision as URMC embarks on a significant clinical transformation and implementation. The Senior Director will ensure that there are clinical/administrative standards across the enterprise that would include scope of nursing practice, competencies, quality and safety, compliance with regulatory items, compensation, recruitment and retention. Master’s Degree from an NLN accredited School of Nursing or accredited School of Public Health. Ten or more years of perioperative nursing experience. Five or more years’ experience in leadership/management in an academic medical center or tertiary setting. Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in New York State. Certification: CNOR or CSSM certification required, in addition, NEA-BC or NE-BC preferred.

Qualifications

Master’s Degree from an NLN accredited School of Nursing or accredited School of Public Health. Ten or more years of perioperative nursing experience. Five or more years’ experience in leadership/management in an academic medical center or tertiary setting. Current license or permit to practice professional nursing in New York State. Doctoral degree or enrolled in a doctoral program. Certification: CNOR or CSSM certification required, in addition, NEA-BC or NE-BC preferred.
