The University of Rochester Department of Psychiatry has an opportunity for physicians with expertise in Addiction Psychiatry to join our faculty. Strong Recovery, our alcohol and drug use treatment program, is an energetic and dedicated team pursuing clinical and academic excellence.

This full-time position includes an academic appointment with University of Rochester School of Medicine and Dentistry at the rank of senior instructor or assistant professor, commensurate with experience and accomplishments, and ample opportunities for faculty development within a robust tradition of mentorship. Teaching and clinical supervision of psychiatric residents and fellows, medical students and other trainees is an integral part of this position. We are a major provider of outpatient addiction treatment services to our diverse and vibrant community in Western New York. Our program consists of an interdisciplinary team of clinicians including an addiction psychiatrists, an addiction medicine physician, nurse practitioners, chemical dependency counselors, mental health counselors, a rehab therapist and nurses. It is located in a facility which includes primary care, a partial hospitalization program, and an outpatient treatment program for severely mentally ill individuals.

Compensation includes an excellent, nationally competitive base salary, with bonus/moonlighting opportunities, annual CME stipend, and generous benefits package through the University, including retirement program with direct University contribution and tuition benefits.

Pay Range

Pay Range: $209,000 - $270,540 Annually

The referenced pay range represents the minimum and maximum annual salary for this faculty position. Individual salaries will be determined within the job’s salary range, and will be determined by considering factors including, but not limited to, market data, education, experience, qualifications, expertise of the individual, and internal equity considerations. Incentive-based compensation may also be applicable and will be discussed during the hiring process.
