Responsibilities

Work as member of interdisciplinary treatment team providing psychopharmacological and psychotherapeutic interventions in a comprehensive outpatient setting for adolescent and young adult patients in treatment for substance use disorders with mental health issues and/or co-morbid psychiatric illness. Strong Recovery promotes recovery from addiction and co-occurring disorders (such as mental illness) through an integrated care model. Our services are staffed by a multidisciplinary team providing addiction and detox services to patients across our region. The Psychiatric Nurse Practitioner is an essential member of the team providing direct clinical care to persons with substance use disorders through assessment for medication assisted treatment using all FDA approved medications to treat addiction. Requires NYS License as RN; NYS Certificate as Nurse Practitioner in Psychiatry. Interest and/or experience working with adolescents and/or young adults with substance use disorders and co-occurring mental health disorders preferred as well as interest in being Waiver 2000 Buprenorphine provider.

Qualifications

Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Nurse Practitioner influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
