As a System Administrator, you will offer support at the local level to internal and external users and will be the first contact for problem resolution. Support is offered primarily via the telephone and helpdesk support tracking software. The senior Analyst works independently, manages his/her own tasks, handles complex clinical IT assignments, and has a demonstrated awareness of the healthcare environment and in depth experience in infrastructure support. The systems administrator has career experience and success demonstrating independent initiative bringing value to the healthcare environment through identification and implementation in workflow and process improvements.
Under limited direction within department and enterprise guidelines and standards:
Maintain System Summaries and Technical Recovery Plans. Provide full support for implementation of new system. including the development of Deployment Guides, Operations Manuals. SOPs for failover, recovery, etc. Recommend and implement process improvement and strategic solutions. Identify existing and potential problems, opportunities for improvement, and ways to enhance the level of service provided. Formulate strategies in response to the conditions uncovered. Evaluate strengths and benefits, as well as weaknesses, issues, costs and impacts of alternative strategies. Recommend the alternative that best addresses the issue or resolves the problem. Appropriate triage and escalation to partner IT groups as necessary. Resolve Pl thru P4 tickets to Server Infrastructure Group (SIG) or escalate to appropriate SIO team member based on established SLAs.
Provide routine health checks either personally or by working with the vendor. Review and implement recommendations of the vendor. Configure monitoring tools for early warning and to provide meaningful alerts to team. Monitor system and provide proactive recommendations for improvement or problem avoidance.
Formulates and prepares project plans with activities, dependencies, dates and timeframes, resource requirements, milestones and deliverables. Monitors progress of project activities and insures all critical implementation criteria are met and provides status reports to Infrastructure Management. Manages project scope and timeline escalating risks to scope, schedule budget as appropriate.
Including change control, time away management, system documentation, contribution to standard operating procedures, and in-service and training.
Bachelor's degree is related discipline such as Computer Science, Business, Mathematics, Statistics, Science or Engineering; and 3-4 years of related experience, preferably 1-2 years in a supervisory capacity; or an equivalent combination of education and experience. Master's degree preferred.
- 3-4 years of experience in technical support and system administration for Windows Server OS support for versions 2003 thru 2106 required.
- Bachelor's Degree in Information Technology, Business Administration or other related field.
- Proven work history as self-starter, of taking initiative to seek out additional responsibilities and of a desire to learn new skills.
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills.
- Detail-oriented with a proven ability to manage projects.
- Customer service experience.
- Strong writing skills preferred.
- Adaptable to changing priorities, tasks, and work schedules to meet SLAs
- Work under pressure and time constraints
- Available to participate in after-hours on-call support as needed.
