FT position available (40 hour) - 12hr shifts, days


Facilitates timely admission of patients from ambulatory areas, SMH, Emergency Department, and direct admits, to inpatient beds within the Wilmot Cancer Institute and Highland Hospital oncology unit. Using clinical judgement and oncology experience to ensure the correct clinical placement of patients, the PAS will work collaboratively with the SMH and Highland Hospital admitting clinical coordinator. In addition the PAS will regularly interface with provider teams, emergency department staff, all inpatient/outpatient areas, and patient and families. Discretionary skills, critical thinking, and excellent communication are essential to act as a liaison between provider teams and bed management staff to facilitate the admission of patients to Wilmot/HH inpatient units. Qualifications: Licensed Registered Nurse with current NYS registration, BSN, and minimum of 3-5 years recent acute care hospital experience required. Oncology experience and certification preferred. The PAS candidate must possess excellent communication and critical thinking skills as well as demonstrate strong interpersonal and customer service skills. Must have flexibility to meet scheduling needs.


Requires a BSN or matriculation in a BSN program from an accredited Nursing Program and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have a minimum of 5 years or RN experience. This position is a member of the unit/service leadership team, demonstrates the ability to develop standards of care, unit/service goals, and objectives, and provides consultation and expertise in delivering patient care.
