Safety, Performance and Regulatory CNS/CNL (WCI Inpatient/Ambulatory).
Exciting opportunity to participate in a new position as part of the WCI Advance Practice RN group. Ensure clinically relevant Performance Improvement, Safety and Regulatory (eg, Joint Commission, Commission on Cancer, Quality Oncology Practice Initiative) standards are applied to improve care and meet compliance needs. Works in concert with Oncology Care Outcomes Manager to effectively collect data, organize and evaluate systems to monitor quality of patient care. Establishes leadership role with staff to analyze patterns and trends to identify and determine whether a problem or opportunity for improvement exists. Will support staff to implement improvement projects to achieve organizational goals with respect to patient safety outcomes. Initiate projects independently and upon direction of WCI leadership/Director of Nursing, and CNO. Develop, maintain, and update policies and procedures based on practice changes and new evidence. Oncology nursing experience and certification preferred. Master’s Degree required, but consideration will be given to applicants with nursing experience who are matriculated in a CNS/CNL program..
Requires a Master's Degree in Nursing or related field and an active New York State license in good standing. Applicants will have 5 years experience as an RN with one to three years of leadership experience; or equivalent combination of education and experience. The Clinical Nurse Specialist influences the quality and delivery of care in various roles including consultant, researcher, mentor, and practitioner. This role may be unit, program, or service based and is involved in continuous quality improvement initiatives.
